The West Northumberland Learning Consortium
West Northumberland Learning Partnership
This project targeted various groups including people with learning disabilities, women experiencing domestic violence, families and unemployed people, and aimed to promote the benefits of learning through fun activities designed to improve health and wellbeing. Women experiencing domestic violence took part in a 10 week course on self-esteem and developed a self-organising group via weekly support meetings. Youth workers and volunteers took part in ‘Forest Schools’, building skills to lead outdoor learning activities for children and young people.
