Sow it grow it eat it a project to teach local residents how to grow their own fruit and vegetables using a polytunnel and a plot of land on a local allotment site in Leicester. Learners then took some of their seedlings home to plant in their own back yard. The project also encouraged healthy eating by teaching participants how to prepare and cook the produce. It also introduced the concepts of sustainability and environmental awareness, including practical re-cycling such as growing strawberries in old wellington boots. Local residents encouraged to continue to meet and support each other after the life of the project.
