Our Findings
Meeting the aims of the Transformation Fund
The Transformation Fund supported 314 local initiatives from public, private and voluntary sector organisations and partnerships. The findings from the initiative are based on the individual reports provided by the projects, and supplemented by visits, telephone audits and interviews undertaken by NIACE staff. They have been categorised into nine different themes and one summary report, which are available to download from this web page.
Overall, the Transformation Fund has field-tested different approaches to educational outreach for adults, offering important lessons for the future of informal learning in general and for the Government's 'Big Society' initiative in particular.
The nine themed reports are:
|
Arts and culture |
Health and well-being |
|
Broadcasting and technology |
Older learners |
|
Citizenship |
Supporting families |
|
Disabled learners |
Young adults not in employment, education and training |
|
Education for sustainable development |
|
The summary document examines the Transformation Fund projects from additional perspectives:
- Innovative learning approaches;
- Engaging new learners and increasing equality of access;
- Outcomes for individuals;
- Outcomes for communities; and
- Lessons for the education providers.
