This partnership between a community radio station and a theatre involved working with learners to explore local and personal history. This oral history project enabled learners to explore local and personal histories and then write and broadcast/perform a radio soap and a theatre performance. The stories were also exhibited on a ‘Living Memories Wall’ at the theatre. The project was supported by volunteers who received training. Learners developed digital and ICT skills, and arts and performing arts based skills including scriptwriting, story-lining, dance, drama, sewing and creative writing.
