London’s Learning

Point Blank
‘London’s Learning’ was a six-month London-based creative media project, delivered by Point Blank college in partnership with Global Radio and Creative Way; a consortium of colleges, universities and training providers. The project delivered free creative and media activities including Radio Broadcasting, Music Production, Acting and Film-making, making use of famous London clubs, shopping centres, theatres, cinemas and bars as learning venues. Activities concluded with celebrity-led Master classes, which enhanced learner perceptions of the ‘value’ of the workshops, and was supported by an innovative informal learning website where people could share their new skills. The project enabled learners to develop digital literacy skills and wider skills for life and employability, whilst also increasing participation in art and culture, sports, the environment and health, promoting confidence, social skills/ networks and community cohesion, and improving access to ICT whilst promoting intergenerational understanding.
