B Inspired led a cross-sector creative arts project that aimed to promote community cohesion in an area of deprivation. Learners with varying needs, including people with mental health issues, unemployed people, people from black and minority ethnic groups and young parents, took part in art and craft sessions themed around the area’s history as a textile manufacturing base as well as local history groups and digital media activities. Participants were able to share skills and knowledge during the project, which promoted greater understanding between communities. Learners produced a DVD of the project and mounted an exhibition of the artwork produced.
