Fenland Active Citizenship
FACET
This project provided an active citizenship programme to 48 people with learning difficulties and disabilities, many of whom were in rural and remote areas. The learning activities included fun with words, music and movement, drama, arts and crafts and sports and leisure. The learning was offered mainly in residential homes and care settings and care staff were encouraged to provide support for learners, to enable care staff themselves to acquire new skills and to play an active part in the process. Two profile raising events were held: the first included a pantomime based on the Wizard of Oz; the second included a drama production, a performance of a learner band and dancing.
