Equality and Diversity Awareness
Introduction:
Many Transformation Fund projects developed flexible learning opportunities to engage groups that may find it difficult to access mainstream learning opportunities or may require additional support. Some were specifically designed to promote equality and diversity and challenge discrimination.
Background:
All adult, community and work-based learning providers, must promote equality and diversity and the wider community cohesion agenda among learners and staff.
Since September 2009 Ofsted's Common Inspection Framework (CIF) have made equality and diversity a limiting grade and in their assessment ask - 'How effectively does the provider actively promote equality and diversity, tackle discrimination and narrow the achievement gap?'
