The Explore Media project, delivered by City of York Council with partners in York: Khaoz Media, Accessible Arts & Media; Future Prospects and York CVS. The project aimed to develop capacity and an infrastructure for the provision of community media adult learning opportunities using new media techniques such as blogging, podcasting, and film-making to engage community groups and individuals in York through: 1. an open access community media centre 2. a social networking platform 3. free taster workshops on media techniques 4. a volunteering programme 5. three road shows to showcase community media 6. cross-sector partnerships and a community media network.
