Icon Theatre’s project to engage spouses of army personnel in arts activities aimed to combat the isolation and lack of opportunity that this transient population can face. Dance, drama and visual arts workshops took place on site within the barracks and engaged 38 women in activities that helped them make links within the community as well as develop new skills. A website, www.armyarts.co.uk, was also developed to provide information on setting up and running arts activities on army barracks, including resource packs and a contacts database.
